About the Williams Building
The (Ghost) Story
The Williams Building is a historical landmark that was built in the late 1920s for one of the city's oldest fraternal organizations, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 103. The lower floor was Fullerton's original post office, while the second and third floors were reserved for the exclusive activities of the Odd Fellows and other organizations.
The third floor was actually a speakeasy in the 1930s, a period when Prohibition made a good time harder to find in the United States. There is still an original trap door and an outside door that patrons of the speakeasy would use to escape when the police raided the room. It seems that these patrons returned, however, as there are reports of spooky happenings on the third floor of the building today.
Cryptobition Spirits pays homage to that history as well as the history of Fullerton itself, highlighting the larger-than-life figures that spent their time in this town. Lillian Yaeger, who broke gender norms in the 20s and owned her own car dealership, Chubby Checkers, the great American rock-and-roll artist, and Babe Ruth, the legendary baseball player, all spent their time in Fullerton, CA. They and others are the spirits that haunt our NFT memberships, which give you access to a space where the decadent past, the raucous present, and the technology of the future meet.
